Franz Wanner, Heinz Geiger

Franz Wanner (*1975) became a photographic journeyman and learned about film making before he studied arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 2000 he undertook first filmprojects in super 8 and later invented the »Floraphone«, a machine that can hear the grass growing. That same year, he decided to give up his birth name and to call himself Franz Wanner. He works on stories about spectacle, social phenomena and urban spaces and is author and co-publisher of the print magazine »terrain vague«.

Ellen Lake

Ellen Lake (*1969) lives and works in Oakland, California, USA. In 2002 she received her MFA from Mills College, where she studied sculpture, film & video, and installation. She is the recipient of Bay Area Video Coalition’s 2005 Mediamaker Award. Trina’s Collections is part of a series of experimental shorts about collecting. This body of work examines the thin line between eccentricity and normalcy, documentary and fantasy, hobbyism and obsession. Work from this series has screened at film festivals, art museums, and micro-cinemas around the world. In 2007, Trina’s Collections won best documentary at DIGit Media, New York and best film at Chlotrudis Short Film Festival, Boston

Manuel Scheiwiller studied at Rotterdam Dance Academy, Amsterdam School of Theatre and the Visual Theater School in Jerusalem. He is the director of Screendance Basel Film Festival. Rob Munday

Rob Munday (*1981) completed a film degree in 2002 and has worked as camera assistant, sound mixer, boom operator, director of photography, producer, actor and editor but it is as a writer and director where he has focussed his energies (and his eyes). He has written and directed five shorts, which have been shot on diverse formats and have been shown at renowned arthouse cinemas in the UK. He likes to create magical realities which combine live action with animation and delve into the characters’ psyche.

Ugo Sanz

Ugo Sanz (*1973) was born in Donostia-San Sebastián. He studied film directing for two years at the Instituto del Cine in Madrid and now lives in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) where he combines his film work with his secondary school teaching job. At the moment he is working on his fourth short movie as a screenwriter and director.

Ireneusz ‘Parkos’ Prokopiuk

Parkos (*1976) is a radio and TV journalist and documentary maker, who’s work has been shown at numerous festivals around the world. He has won prizes in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Belarus. Among other creative pursuits he is interested in the villages of multicultural Podlasie (North-East Poland), where he was born. At the moment he is working on a documentary about the Belorussian revolution during the last presidential election in Minsk 2006. Recently he founded his own production company Parkos Media. Weirdo has been broadcast in KINO POLSKA and won a recent competition held by major Internet Portal onet.pl and TVN television.
